About
Manon Eaves is a Brooklyn-based painter originally from the American South. Her dreamlike paintings explore the dark and archetypal feminine, often investigating the psychic experience of being the object of the gaze and its impact on subjective reality. By navigating psychological and mystical terrains, Eaves’ work seeks to uncover hidden dynamics and suggest new realities. At the core of her worldview, she entertains the proposition that the Western mind is inherently masculine—not only in its gaze, but in its structure. Her paintings are less concerned with critiquing the gaze itself and more invested in the psychic experience of objectified femininity and its untapped potential.
Eaves’ artistic practice has been developed through years of independent exploration, and more recently, through ongoing studies at the Art Students League of New York. Her work has been supported by various artist residencies, including the 2026 Byrdcliffe Colony communal summer residency in Woodstock, NY.
