About
Manon is an American oil painter based in Brooklyn. Her work explores the archetypal and dark feminine, entertaining the proposition that the Western mind is inherently masculine—not only in its gaze, but in its structure. Her paintings are less concerned with critiquing the gaze itself and more invested in the psychic experience of being its object and the effect on subjective experience.
Largely self-taught, Manon’s artistic voice has been shaped by years of independent exploration. A pivotal moment in her development came during a 2025 residency in France, where immersion in a new creative community deepened her practice and expanded her dialogue with the wider art world.
