About
Manon Eaves’ dreamlike, symbolic paintings feature iconography of the archetypal or dark feminine in otherworldly landscapes. Exploring psychological and mystical terrain, Manon’s work invites opportunities to observe hidden dynamics and create new realities. At the core of her practice, she entertains the proposition that the Western mind is inherently masculine—not only in its gaze, but in its structure. Her paintings are less concerned with critiquing the gaze itself and more invested in the psychic experience of objectified femininity and its untapped potential. Built on this ground, the work often reads as a cautionary fairytale where images could deceive and entrap or conjure the divine.
Manon’s artistic voice has been shaped by years of independent exploration. More recently, ongoing painting classes, critique groups, and an artists’ residency in France have inspired her practice and cultivated dialog with other artists.
